The Dunn County Crime Stoppers Program in conjunction with the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office are pleased to announce that a concerned, anonymous, citizen has generously posted a $10,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal injuries to Leo. As has been previously publicized Leo was a horse belonging to Tammy Dahlby of rural Colfax who was led into an office at Dahlby’s training facility near Colfax on July 15th by unknown individual`s. Leo was discovered later with severe injuries which eventually led to Leo having to be put down. Anyone having information on this case is asked to anonymously contact Dunn County Crime Stoppers by calling its toll free 24 hour phone line(1-855-847-3866/ TIP-DUNN) ,sending an anonymous tip by texting ”TIPDUNN” plus their message to “CRIMES” (274637) from a Mobile phone or submitting a web tip at dunncocrimestoppers.com.


On July 16th, 2013 the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of an injured horse in the Town of Colfax.  Upon investigation it was found that some unknown person(s) led a horse named “Leo” from its stall located in the training facility into an office elevated off the arena area.  Leo became agitated and forced its way through a wall falling over a fence into a corral on the other side of the wall.  Leo sustained significant external and internal injuries.  After trying to save the animal the owner and the veterinarian were forced to put Leo down.


The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance in identifying those responsible for Leo’s injuries and subsequent death.
